ATB Swim

The ATB Swim, now in it’s 5th year continues to provide a platform for safe and inclusive Open Water Swimming. Whether you are young or old, a complete newbie or seasoned open water swimmer, our ATB Community is welcoming to all those that want to enjoy their dose of salt water therapy and vitamin sea without the start lines and finish lines of competitive swimming races.

The ATB Swim is held on a Sunday of the month during Summer (November to March) and from on the 2nd Sunday of the Month in Winter (June to September). The swim starts and finishes on Simon’s Town Long Beach with swimmers swimming an approved marked course in Simon’s Bay. Swimmers can complete as many or as few laps of the marked course as they want to within the 1 hour that the ATB Swim runs. Lifeguards are on duty in the water and on land for the duration of the swim to guide swimmers around the course and assist swimmers when they are needed.

All swimmers 18 and under swim for FREE at the ATB Swim and also receive an #ATBSwimPups swim cap for FREE. Under 13s are to be accompanied by a parent or coach unless by prior arrangement with the ATB Team. Our Lifeguard Team, The Cape Town Watermen, are all qualified with Lifesaving South Africa and are on duty in and out of the water for the duration of the swim. South African Naval personnel and NSRI Rescue Swimmers also swim for free! All swimmers must have completed the online indemnity and be in receipt of the ATB Swim Orientation before taking part.
